Frequent questions

Online classes

What is a trial lesson and what is it for?

The trial lesson is an opportunity for you to get to know how my online classes work. During the session we can get to know each other and I will explain what my methodology is and what materials I use. In addition, in the 40 minutes we will have available you can explain what your needs are, for example why you need to learn Spanish, what your preferences are in language learning, etc. You can ask for one by contacting me.

What are the Spanish lessons like at the profesoraespanol.com school?

They last for 55 minutes and we use Skype or Google Hangouts to communicate in real time. Each lesson combines vocabulary, grammar and Hispanic culture using my special interactive methods. Although the classes will be flexible and adapted to your needs, I will use the Cervantes Institute’s Common European Framework of Language Reference (MCERL) as my main model.

Are the online lessons different from a face-to-face private lesson?

The students who have been learning the longest with me are those who I teach on Skype. Based on my experience and the opinion of my students, online learning offers great advantages over face-to-face classes because students find it very convenient not having to travel to the class, and also very practical to have a teacher totally available for them during the whole lesson.

Will I have to buy a book?

The classes are designed so that you won’t have to buy any material at all. Before the class I will send you the material that we will use in the lesson. Having said that, if you prefer working with a book, you can buy one and we will use it in the lessons.

Is it compulsory to do homework after each lesson?

In my experience I recommend that my students do homework to reinforce what they have learned in class, but it is up to each student if they do the homework or not.

Can I ask you questions by email?

Of course, between classes you can ask me questions about the homework I set you, or about the topics discussed in class, and I will answer these questions as soon as possible.
